On Sunday, HYDRAA began demolishing unauthorized constructions in Nallacheruvu, Kukatpally.
Of the lake's total 27 acres, 7 acres have been encroached upon in the Full Tank Level (FTL) and buffer zones.
Over 50 unauthorized structures, including houses and apartments, were built on 4 acres of the buffer zone.
Additionally, in 3 acres of the FTL, 25 buildings and 16 sheds were constructed. HYDRAA is currently demolishing the 16 sheds while leaving the occupied buildings untouched.
A large police presence has been deployed at the site.
