A disturbing complaint has been filed against Tollywood choreographer Jani Master, accusing him of sexual harassment and abuse.
The victim, Shrestha Varma, a young dancer from Madhya Pradesh, alleges that Jani Master exploited her trust and subjected her to repeated assaults.
Shrestha, who had won a prominent dance competition, Dhee, where Jani Master served as a judge, initially believed he was offering her a great opportunity.
He invited her to work as his assistant, prompting her to relocate to Hyderabad in hopes of advancing her career.
Later, Jani Master allegedly took her to Mumbai under the pretense of attending a professional event, where he is accused of sexually assaulting her.
Despite her attempts to resist, Jani Master allegedly threatened her with severe consequences, including loss of career opportunities and even death, if she spoke out.
Out of fear, Shrestha felt she had no choice but to comply.
According to her statement, the assaults continued over time, with one incident occurring in a caravan when she refused his advances.
Shrestha also claims that Jani Master pressured her to convert to his religion and marry him, demands she refused.
Her complaint further alleges that Jani's wife visited her home, demanding she marry her husband, and physically assaulted her.
After enduring persistent harassment, Shrestha Varma finally filed a police complaint in Hyderabad. We will have to see how the case unfolds from here.
