Actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut's upcoming film Emergency, initially slated for release on September 6, has been postponed due to lack of approval from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and criticism from various Sikh organizations. Amidst this, reports suggest that Kangana has sold her bungalow in Bandra.
According to the Hindustan Times, Kangana sold her Pali Hill bungalow in Mumbai for â¹32 crore, as per property registration documents accessed by Zapkey. She had purchased the property for â¹20 crore in September 2017.
The documents reveal that the bungalow spans a built-up area of 3,075 sq ft, with an additional parking space of 565 sq ft. The sale, registered on September 5, 2024, involved a stamp duty of â¹1.92 crore and a registration fee of â¹30,000. The buyer is Shweta Bathija, a partner at Kamalini Holdings, based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
In 2020, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) demolished alleged illegal portions of Kangana's bungalow in Bandra. The actress had previously claimed that the Maharashtra government was targeting her due to her clash with the Shiv Sena.
An old tweet from Kangana read, "My office was suddenly declared illegal in the last 24 hours, they have destroyed everything inside, including furniture and lights, and now I am receiving threats that they will come to my house and break it as well.
