Revanth Reddy frustrated with high command?

It looks like Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is getting frustrated with the attitude of the party high command in Delhi, which has been very slow in making key decisions.

In the last week, Revanth Reddy has gone to Delhi twice to seek approval from the party high command for expanding his cabinet and appointing a new president for TPCC.

On Wednesday, he rushed to New Delhi again following a call from the leaders to discuss the appointment of the new PCC president and the expansion of the state cabinet. He presented a list of probable ministers to be inducted into the cabinet.

He met All India Congress Committee president Mallikarjun Kharge in the evening and held discussions with him on the cabinet expansion. Readmore!

“He also met Rahul Gandhi to discuss these issues, but as usual, they dodged the issue and told him that the decision could be taken later,” sources from Delhi said.

This has apparently frustrated Revanth Reddy, as there are no auspicious days for another month to carry out the cabinet expansion. Interestingly, the high command has also linked the cabinet expansion with the appointment of the PCC president.

“It is a very simple matter. Only five or six berths need to be filled. And there is no better person than Revanth Reddy to decide his own team. But the high command wants to poke its nose into every affair in the state. This is frustrating,” sources in Gandhi Bhavan said.

Among those aspiring for the PCC chief post are: present working president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, former MP Madhu Yashki, AICC secretary A. Sampath Kumar, and former Union minister and Mahabubabad MP P. Balram Naik.

While Mahesh Kumar and Madhu Yashki are from the OBC community, Sampath Kumar is an SC, and Balram Naik is an ST leader.

“Since a leader from the Reddy community is already the chief minister, the party high command might prefer an OBC, SC, or ST leader as the PCC chief to balance the caste equation,” sources said.
