Naidu will lose Kuppam seat by 25,630 votes!

“Aakhari votu lekkette varaku ee Pendurthi Babu votami oppukodu” (This Pendurthi Babu will not concede the defeat till the last vote is counted) – goes the dialogue of comedian Sunil in the popular Telugu film “Chintakayala Ravi.”

Well, Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been fighting tooth and nail on his home turf Kuppam assembly constituency in Chittoor district to win the seat in the next month assembly elections in the state.

An astrologer G V L N Charyulu, while speaking to a digital channel, has predicted how Naidu is going to lose Kuppam seat this time and with how many votes exactly.

According to him, the TDP chief is going to get defeated in Kuppam with a margin of 25,630 votes.

“Naidu might have won from Kuppam in the previous seven elections, irrespective of whether he has done anything for the constituency, not done or not visited the constituency regularly. But this time, he is facing Ashtama Sani and hence, he is going to lose the seat,” Charyulu predicted.

He said the announcement of election schedule, commencement of nominations, day of polling and day of counting – are not in favour of Naidu.

“Every star is working against him and I can confidently say he is going to lose the elections this time. You can note down my prediction and question me on June 4 evening,” the astrologer asserted.

It is obvious that YSRCP president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is keen on defeating Naidu at Kuppam at any cost, as a defeat would be the end of the road for Naidu’s four and a half decades of political career.

In fact, the victory margin of Naidu has been on the going down over the last few terms.

In 2014, Naidu secured a majority of 47,217 votes out of around two lakh votes polled, over his nearest YSRCP rival K Chandramouli, a retired IAS officer of 1990-batch.

But in 2019, when Jagan’s party swept the elections in the entire state, Naidu won the Kuppam seat, but his margin was drastically reduced to 30,722 votes.

It clearly shows that Naidu’s popularity graph in his own home turf is gradually going down. So, it is not going to be easy for Naidu this time.

Secondly, the YSRCP swept all the local body elections in Kuppam in 2022. It had captured Kuppam municipality by winning 19 out of 25 wards, besides 75 out of 89 gram panchayats, 62 out of 65 block parishad seats and all four zilla parishad seats in the constituency.

So, what is in store for Naidu this time?
