MLAs' poaching: RRR under Telangana SIT scanner?

The ongoing investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Telangana police into the alleged attempt to poach four Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLAs into the Bharatiya Janata Party took a surprising twist on Thursday.

According to the latest reports, the SIT authorities served a notice under Section 41-A of Criminal Procedure Code to rebel YSR Congress party MP from Narasapuram parliamentary constituency Kanumuru Raghu Ramakrishnam Raju for questioning.

Though the details of the notice are not yet out, leaks from the police department said Raju has been summoned to appear before the investigating officer on November 28 for questioning in connection with the TRS MLAs’ poaching case.

During the course of investigation, the SIT is learnt to have found the name of Raju in the call data records of the accused – Ramachandra Bharati, Nanda Kumar and Simhayaji. The authorities are suspecting that Raju might have some idea about the poaching of the MLAs.

There are also reports that it could be Raju who had promised to arrange Rs 100 crore to Pilot Rohit Reddy on behalf of the BJP. The interrogation of Raju could throw some light on this suspicion, the SIT officials say.

One wonders what interest Raju has in the poaching of the TRS MLAs into the BJP.

Maybe, he was acting as an agent of the BJP in the deal and in turn, he has been getting protection from the Centre in the ED cases against him and also with regard to his disqualification from the Lok Sabha.

Watch out for more developments.
