Raju disqualification: Jagan mounts pressure on Centre!

The strategy being adopted by the YSR Congress party during the ongoing Parliament session for the last one week has been baffling the political observers as well as the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership.

Apart from raising critical questions in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, the YSRC MPs are not hesitating to stall the parliamentary proceedings on par with the other opposition parties.

They are trying to embarrass the government by storming the podium by raising issues like Polavaram and the special category status and exposing the the indifferent attitude of the Centre towards Andhra Pradesh.

Though it was initially believed that the YSRC MPs were stalling the proceedings as part of the BJP strategy to divert the attention of the opposition from the controversial Pegasus spyware issue, it is now evident that there is more to the YSRC strategy than what meets the eye.

Apparently, the YSRC is trying to bring pressure on the Centre seeking immediate disqualification of rebel MP from Narasapuram Kanumuru Raghurama Krishnam Raju, who has become a thorn in the flesh of Jagan.

The BJP top leadership is understood to have consulted the YSRC MPs to pacify them, but they reportedly told the BJP that they were only following the directions of the boss, who is upset with the Centre for not conceding any of the state’s demands.

“Forget special category status, the chief minister is angry as to why the Centre is dodging taking action against the rebel MP, who has joined hands with the Telugu Desam Party and attacking the state government day in and day out,” the MPs told the BJP leadership.

As a result, the top BJP leadership is learnt to have asked Jagan to come to Delhi for negotiations. He is expected to go the capital on Monday or Tuesday and put forth his demands before the Centre.

If the talks materialise, the Speaker might take action against Raghurama Krishnam Raju before this month end, sources added.
