Postponing a film is just a formality now. No big movie can release until August as the current trend of corona cases in the second wave is expected to continue for another two months. Partial lockdowns are already in place in many places.
Balakrishna’s “Akhanda” will also have to move its release date to either August or September.
April 30, 2021 was its initial plan but the makers had officially announced May 28th as its release date.
Recently, the makers of “Acharya”, “Naarappa” and “Khiladi” have officially released press notes to make it clear that the films got postponed.
It is time for Balayya to make the same formal announcement. Directed by Boyapati Srinu and produced by Miriyala Ravinder Reddy, “Akhanda” has stalled its shooting as well.
