Taj Hotel For Sesh, 100 Yr Old Temple For Nani

One of the busiest production designers in Tollywood, Avinash Kolla is working for two prestigious ventures- Major starring Adivi Sesh and Shyam Singha Roy starring Nani.

Major is based on the life of 2008 Mumbai attacks martyr Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, while Shyam Singha Roy is a fictional tale set in the backdrop of Kolkata in 60s.

Avinash Kolla had built six sets for Major including The Gateway of India, NSG Commandos set-up, the Taj Mahal Palace hotel etc.

Taj Mahal hotel set became obligatory as approval was not given to shoot at the hotel. Nearly 500 people worked for over 10 days to build the set.

On the other hand, the production designer built a massive set depicting Kolkata for Nani’s Shyam Singha Roy in a 10-acre land in Hyderabad.

The production designer and his team spent four months in and around Kolkata to comprehend the architectural styles of the residential spaces, streets of the city in 60s.

A 100-year old Kali Maa Temple was also built in the span of 2 months using clay, bricks and red color with 1200 workers working for it.

Major and Shyam Singha Roy are most ambitious projects for Sesh and Nani respectively.

These two films are expected to release in a gap of one or two months.
