Akhanda's Popularity Surprises All

Despite delivering a huge flop with “Vinaya Vidheya Rama”, director Boyapati Srinu seems to have not lost the confidence of trade circles, fans, and the satellite channels. His graph always soars when he teams up with Balayya. Proof: Akhanda.

“Akhanda”, the third film in the combination of Boyapati and Balakrishna, has garnered more than 30 million views in just one week. Megastar Chiranjeevi’s “Acharya” teaser is still struggling to reach 20 million views even after two months.

Acharya is not only Chiranjeevi’s film, it is also being directed by Koratala Siva, one of the leading directors. The teaser of Balakrishna and Boyapati’s “Akhanda” title announcement went viral without much publicity and hype.

Interestingly, the buyers have also shown interest to pay good prices but the film’s release has now become a question mark due to the surge in COVID-19 cases. Meanwhile, Star Maa Group bought the film’s digital and satellite rights together for a whopping Rs 16 crore.

So, the craze surrounding this project has surprised all analysts. Moreover, Balakrishna’s previous movies – “NTR Kathanayakudu”, “NTR Mayanayakudu” and “Ruler” were disasters. Despite so many odds against this project, the teaser has changed the perception.
