Finally Galla Jayadev Joins TDP Campaign

After a long silence and invisibility, Guntur MP and TDP leader Galla Jayadev had joined the party ranks in the municipal elections.

Jayadev, who is keeping away, in fact out of the reach of the rank and file, for some months and was not available for the party candidates in the just concluded panchayat elections, had surprised the party leaders in Guntur and Tenali on Tuesday.

He campaigned for the candidates in the two urban local bodies and gave a call to the people to defeat the ruling YSR Congress in the municipal elections.

Though he reached the Guntur city, he skipped the campaign for the party candidates and rushed to Tenali.

The TDP leaders in Guntur have been locked in internal squabbles with rebels contesting the elections in a couple of divisions despite the party’s directions.

TDP state president K Atchennaidu, who visited Guntur last week, could not resolve the differences and left the issue to Chandrababu Naidu.

Jayadev too has little to intervene as he has no stakes in the party affairs in the city.

On the first day, Jayadev campaigned in Tenali municipality where he made an appeal to the voters to defeat the YSR Congress in the civic polls.

It is to be seen how many days Jayadev will campaign for the party in the municipal elections amidst internal squabbles.
