Pawan Turns Saffron, To Leave Tirupati To BJP?

Power star and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan surprised his fans by appearing in saffron robes when he came out of Sri Venkateshwara temple in Tirumala after having the darshan of the Lord on Friday morning.

There is no rule in Tirumala that one should wear only saffron clothes, except that the devotees are requested to wear traditional attire like dhoti and uttareeyam. But when Pawan wore saffron clothes, it caught the attention of the media, who clicked his pictures.

One wondered whether Pawan shifted to saffron robes only to prove his party’s alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party, which is very keen contesting the by-elections to Tirupati parliamentary constituency likely to be held next month.

In fact, the Jana Sena Party is also interested in contesting the elections, but because of the alliance with the BJP, it is not able to take any decision. Pawan Kalyan held a meeting with party seniors and activists in Tirupati in the last two days to discuss the issue.

He also convened the political affairs committee meeting of Jana Sena in Tirupati, where the party leaders suggested that it would be better if he convinced the BJP leadership to leave the seat to the Jana Sena.

However, Pawan did not give any commitment and told them that he would take a final decision within a week. Apparently, he has succumbed to the pressures from the BJP leadership from Delhi to leave the seat to the BJP.

“May be, his wearing of saffron robes in Tirumala is an indication to Pawan’s decision to drop out from the race for Tirupati seat in favour of the BJP,” a party leader said.
