PVNR 100 In Switzerland On Oct 24th
The year-long celebration of former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao’s birthday commemoration began in Telangana as well as world-wide. The State Legislative Assembly has requested the Central Government to confer Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award of the country, posthumously on former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao for his contributions to the country.
Mahesh Bigala said that the centenary is celebrated in 50 different countries according to the instructions of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and PVNR Committee. We have decided to install statues of Narasimha Rao in the USA, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia and Mauritius.
“In the US, the statue will be erected in Washington DC and many other major cities,” he said. He also launched an online petition demanding the former prime minister of Bharat Ratna. He added that efforts were being made to invite former US President Bill Clinton as the main guest for the centenary celebrations to be held in Hyderabad next year.
PV centenary celebrations organising committee chairman K Keshava Rao described the former Prime Minister as a multi-faceted genius who played many roles as freedom fighter, politician, scholar, linguist, author, statesman and administrator and also he appreciated the work done by Mahesh Bigala garu to bring all Indian diaspora into one platform to celebrate centenary celebrations. All programmes were participated by PV family members.
Municipal Administration and Urban Development minister KT Rama Rao has called upon the Non Resident Indians of Telugu origin to celebrate the birth centenary celebrations of former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao on a big scale in all the countries.
Speaking to the NRIs from 51 countries in a video conference from Hyderabad, Rama Rao lamented that despite PV’s yeomen services to the nation as a freedom fighter and politician, the former Prime Minister did not get his due share in the history of the nation. He said the latter was instrumental in spreading the greatness of Telugu people and their culture across the continents.
As of now across the world year-long celebrations of former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao’s birth centenary began in Columbus, Ohio, in the US and continued with the Toronto in Canada, Munich in Germany and on October 24th in Switzerland respectively.
Mahesh Bigala urged the people to log on to https://www.change.org/BharatRatnaforPV and cast vote in favour of the demand and also he mentioned the event led by PV centenary committee ( supported by Telangana Government ) post covid we will be reaching all Indian diaspora across the world to make the event successful up until the June 28th 2021.
