End of Direct OTT Releases in Tollywood!

There might not be any further direct OTT releases of prominent Telugu stars. As theaters gearing up to reopen shortly, stars like Sai Dharam Tej also have dropped their OTT plans.

Sai Dharam Tej’s “Solo Brathuke So Better” was grabbed by ZEE5 for a whopping amount.

The group holds rights for theatrical release as well as OTT streaming. They thought of releasing the movie for Deepavali on ZEE5.

In Vizag, Varun Inox multiplex and Jagadamba theater complex have already started screening movies.

In a month, all other cinema halls will reopen. Hence, Sai Dharam Tej asked the ZEE group to release the movie in theaters.

From the beginning, Ram Pothineni is dead against OTT release. Nithin’s “Rang De” has also dropped OTT plans after the initial talks. There are no other medium-range or big movies to go for direct digital release.

Only small-budgeted movies and women-centric films like Keerthy Suresh’s “Miss India” will have a direct digital release.
