After RTC Buses, KCR Throws Open Bars!

Even as the Coronavirus pandemic is still pervading in Telangana with high intensity, the Telangana government appears to have left the people to their fate in tackling the virus.

First, it was Hyderabad metro rail services which were opened for public from September 7.

After taking certain precautions initially, the authorities have now given up and relaxed all norms. No, commuters themselves are taking precautions to travel.

Starting Friday, the Telangana government has thrown open RTC bus services in Hyderabad as well on experimental basis.

Already, the RTC buses are operating on the outskirts and also between the districts. Several new cases of Corona are said to be emerging from these services.

The latest decision is to permit all bars, clubs and tourism bars with immediate effect.

Of course, as in the case of metro rail services and buses, the authorities are imposing certain conditions such as installation of non-touch infrared thermometers or thermal screening at the entrance of bars, maintenance of proper queue system and hygienic conditions etc.

The bars are also asked to ensure proper crowd management in parking lots, provide hand sanitisers and make wearing of masks by bar crew mandatory.

“The ban on gatherings, musical events, dance floors will be enforced. There should also be proper ventilation in the premises,” a government order issued by chief secretary Somesh Kumar said.
