Chiru Upset With Leaks On Veerraju Meeting!

Ever since his term as the Congress MP in Rajya Sabha came to an end in April 2018, megastar and former Union minister Chiranjeevi has been staying away from politics and focussing only on his films.

He has been maintaining good relations with every political party – be it Telangana Rashtra Samithi in Telangana or the YSR Congress party in Andhra Pradesh or even Jana Sena Party floated by his brother Pawan Kalyan.

But by and large, Chiranjeevi has been remaining apolitical. So, when newly-appointed Bharatiya Janata Party president of Andhra Pradesh unit Somu Veerraju wanted to call on him on Thursday, he did not say no.

The megastar welcomed Veerraju to his residence, felicitated him with a shawl and bouquet and congratulated him on becoming the president of Andhra Pradesh unit of BJP.

Both of them had held discussions for quite some on the contemporary politics in the Telugu states and the Centre. And at the end, Chiranjeevi wished the BJP president all the best.

But on Friday, Chiranjeevi is learnt to have become terribly upset with the news appearing in various media stating that he had suggested to the state BJP chief to work in coordination with the Jana Sena Party to resolve the issues concerning the people.

What had upset the megastar more was the report that he had expressed desire that under the leadership of Veerraju, the BJP-Jana Sena combine would come to power in 2024 assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.

“Obviously, it was a leak from the BJP sources. Chiranjeevi would never speak in favour of any political party or an alliance, even if it is his own brother’s party Jana Sena,” sources close to the megastar said.

When Chiranjeevi is keeping away from politics, how can he express desire that the BJP-Jana Sena combine will come to power in 2024, they asked.

“Just because he said all the best to Veerraju, it does not mean he has wished BJP should come to power,” the sources said.
