Ganta triggers unrest in YSRC even before entry

The reports that former minister and senior TDP legislator from Visakhapatnam (north) assembly constituency Ganta Srinivasa Rao is all set to join the YSRCP soon has created unrest in the party.

While party general secretary and Rajya Sabha member V Vijay Sai Reddy, who is also in-charge of the party in north coastal Andhra, has been opposing Ganta’s entry into the party, state tourism minister Avanti Srinivas, also from Visakhapatnam, has vehemently attacked Ganta for making a backdoor entry into the ruling party only to wriggle out of the cases and scams.

As if it was not enough, there have been massive protests in the YSRC for the last couple of days against the proposed entry of Ganta into the party.

At several places in Bhimili constituency, the YSRC activists took out protest rallies against Ganta.

The activists staged demonstrations at PM Palem, Chinnapuram and Tagarapuvalasa junction and raised slogans demanding that Ganta should not be taken into the YSRC.

“We had faced several difficulties from Ganta Srinivasa Rao when he was the minister during the TDP regime. How can he be brought into the party now? The party high command should rethink on admitting him into the party,” a party activist said.
