Tollywood Wants Lands in Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad: Telugu Film Producers Council is seeking prime lands in Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, president C Kalyan and other body members wrote a letter urged the government to allot lands for ‘construction/establishing infrastructure for housing purposes to producers, studios, artists, directors, technicians and etc.’

In other words, the producers want lands for free or at throwaway prices in Vizag as the new government is planning to develop the movie industry in Andhra Pradesh as well.

Vizag has been the preferred city for movie shootings after Hyderabad for the movie industry. Lately, the majority of the films are being shot in the city of destiny.

The producers council recalled how late Chief Minister Marri Chenna Reddy gave vast lands of Jubilee Hills and Film Nagar to the producers, directors, and technicians to shift the movie industry from Madras to Hyderabad.

They also appreciated the efforts of successive governments in the combined state and the current government in Telangana to develop the movie industry in Hyderabad.

They have also lauded YS Jagan government’s recent G.O of allowing shootings in the state for free. But they are urging the government to ‘take immediate action for allotment of suitable lands to the Telugu Film Industry.’
