Balayya's accountant held for forging wife's signature

Hindupur MLA and Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna’s accountant was arrested on Monday for allegedly forging signatures of the MLA’s wife to activate mobile banking facility for their accounts.

Jubilee Hills police arrested K Shiva Kumar, 34, an assistant accountant with NBK Films LLP, Anna Nagar, Balamrai, Secunderabad, owned by actor-producer-MLA Balakrishna and his wife Vasundharadevi, for forging their signatures.

Shiva Kumar, 34, forged the signature of Vasundharadevi on HDFC Bank application form and submitted it to the bank asking for activation of the mobile banking feature, Jubilee Hills police said.

“The managers of HDFC Bank’s Banjara Hills branch, Phaneendra and Srinivas, contacted Vasundharadevi’s representative, V Subba Rao, on February 13 to enquire about the application furnished to activate mobile banking feature.

“Subba Rao and Vasundharadevi told bank officials that they had not applied for mobile banking. They also called Shiva Kumar and confronted him about submitting the application at the bank.

“Shiva confessed before his employers and also the bankers that he had forged the signature to download the app and easily check account balance and account statements instead of doing multiple rounds to the bank,” Jubilee Hills inspector Sattaiah said.

Based on the complaint lodged by Subba Rao, police registered a forgery case against Shiva Kumar under Sections 467, 468, 471 r/w 511 of the IPC. Shiva was arrested on Monday and produced before court. He was sent in judicial remand.
