New Vijayawada: 'Paina Ammavaru- Kinda Ambedkar'

Vijayawada is undergoing a complete transformation, presenting a new and revitalized appearance. A noteworthy addition to its landscape is a distinguished tourist attraction recently unveiled.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar has long been a source of pride and respect in India. It is noteworthy that the Telangana Government recently erected a substantial statue of Ambedkar near Hussain Sagar. Now, the Andhra Pradesh government is constructing the tallest Ambedkar statue in India, standing at an impressive 125 feet.

The statue will be situated on 18.18 acres of land in the prime location of Swarajya Maidan in the city center of Vijayawada. It will be placed on an 81-foot pedestal named "Samajika Nyaya Mahasilpam" or the Statue of Social Justice.

On the occasion of the statue unveiling on Friday, the 19th of January, the Chief Minister addressed the "Samajika Samata Sankalpa Sabha" at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium. The Ambedkar memorial will be open to visitors starting from January 20. Readmore!
