Tollywood has set a new record in the year 2022. This stood as the year of the highest number of Telugu film releases.
Surprisingly 297 films were released this year including the dubbed versions. This is the first of its kind in Tollywood history.
Looking back into history, the year 2013 has seen 270 films, 2014 stood up with 276, while 2016 released 266, 2019 came up with 269 and now 2022 rounded at 297.
There was a big pause for new releases in the year 2020 and the year 2021 also has seen some postponements owing to lockdowns.
Finally all the pending films made a queue for 2022 release. Thus the number reached 297.
