Prominent industrialist and realtor Lingamaneni Ramesh, in whose leased residence on the banks of Krishna river at Vundavalli Telugu Desam Party president and former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu has been staying, amassed huge wealth through illegal methods.
This was the allegation levelled by YSR Congress party leader and Mangalagiri MLA alla Ramakrishna Reddy.
He alleged that Lingamaneni, with the backing of Naidu, had resorted to illegal real estate activity in his constituency and made big money.
“He had done illegal layouts in 40 acres of encroached lands and developed real estate ventures without following rules. He constructed luxurious villas and sold each of them for Rs 5 crore, though he had shown the registered value of the land at Rs 4,000 per square yard,” Reddy said.
The MLA further alleged that Lingamaneni had evaded building permit fee and layout fee to the Kaza gram panchayat till now.
“The total fee he had evaded so far is more than Rs 50 crore. What is worse, he failed cases against the same panchayat and managed the cases,” he pointed out.
Reddy said he would request the chief minister to order a vigilance inquiry into the land scams of Lingamaneni that ran into more than Rs 250 crore.
“Naidu remained a silent spectator to Lingamaneni’s illegal activities and protected him, only because he had been given the guest house on lease at Vundavalli,” he alleged.
