Naidu's Illegal Assets Case On Fast Track!

TDP president and former Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu, who had been enjoying the stay from the state high court for the last 15 years, in connection with his alleged illegal assets case, is now compelled to face the trial.

A special court for Anti-Corruption Bureau cases in Hyderabad, which got the stay vacated on the probe into Naidu’s illegal assets case, took up the hearing on Friday as per the recent directions of the Supreme Court to the lower courts to expedite the hearings into the pending cases against all public representatives including MLAs, MPs, CMs and ex-CMs.

The case against Naidu was filed following a petition from present YSR Congress party leader Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvathi to the ACB way back in 2004. She alleged that Naidu had amassed huge wealth between 1987 and 2005 through illegal means.

However, Naidu challenged the ACB case in the high court in 2005 and obtained a stay over the investigation. The stay got vacated only recently and the ACB court resumed the hearing.  Readmore!
