Naidu's First List Ready!

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is ready with the first list of candidates for both the Lok Sabha and the state assembly elections likely to be held in the last week of April.

Naidu disclosed this to the party functionaries during the teleconference on Thursday.

According to party sources, the first list comprises candidates for eight Lok Sabha seats and 72 assembly seats and they would be announced in a day or two.

The second and final lists also would be declared within a week, sources said.

The eight candidates for Lok Sabha elections are: K Rammohan Naidu for Srikakulam, P Ashok Gajapathi Raju for Vizianagaram, G M C Harish for Amalapuram, Kesineni Nani for Vijayawada, C Adinarayana Reddy for Kadapa, Galla Jayadev for Guntur, S P Y Reddy’s son for Nandyal and Sriram Malyadri for Bapatla.

Some of the key candidates for the assembly seats include: Ramesh Reddy (Rayachoti), Chengal Rayudu (Rajampet), D L Ravindra Reddy (Mydukuru), Ramasubba Reddy (Jammalamadugu), Payyavula Kesav (Uravakonda), Nandamuri Balakrishna (Hindupur), K E Krishna Murthy (Pathikonda), Akhila Priya (Allagadda), Brahmananda Reddy (Nandyal), Meenakshi Naidu (Adoni), N Chandrababu Naidu (Kuppam), Nallari Kishore Kumar Reddy (Pileru), Gali Muddukrishna Naidu’s son (Nagari), Bojjala’s son (Sri Kalahasti), P Narayana (Nellore), Bollineni Krishnaiah (Atmakur), Jyothula Nehru (Jaggampet), Kondru Murali (Rajam) etc.

While most of the sitting MLAs are being retained, Naidu is making changes in at least 25-30 seats where the performance of the sitting MLAs is not up to the mark.

He began the process about four months ago, but he again started a fresh interaction with the leaders ahead of the polls.

Meanwhile, as Congress stalwart Kotla Suryaprakash Reddy’s family is all set to join the TDP, Chandrababu Naidu reportedly agreed to give them tickets for at least three Assembly constituency and one Lok Sabha constituency to them.
