Naidu yatra to activate party for local polls!

Starting Wednesday, Telugu Desam Party president and former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu will go on a “bus yatra,” apparently to rejuvenate the party leaders and cadre before the forthcoming local body and municipal elections in the state.

The “Praja Chaitanya Yatra,” which kicks off from Martur town of Parchur assembly constituency in Prakasam district on Wednesday morning, will cover more than 100 assembly constituencies in 13 districts over a period of 45 days.

Though Naidu says his Yatra is aimed at exposing the failures of the nine-month old YSR Congress party government in the state headed by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, it is quite obvious that it is a desperate attempt to revitalise the party cadres to face the ensuing local body elections and municipal polls.

The TDP chief took to twitter to make an appeal to the party cadres to take part in the yatra in large numbers to fight against the dictatorial regime of the Jagan government that has allegedly ruined the state on all fronts. Readmore!

He said the people who had voted Jagan to power with a huge mandate were now terribly disappointed with his government, which has turned anarchic, inefficient and corrupt.

“I am taking up this Praja Chaitanya Yatra to enlighten the people about the lopsided policies of the YSRC government, which is cheating the people,” he said.

Naidu would address a series of rallies and roadside meetings, besides holding meetings with the party leaders and cadres all along the tour.

Let us see how far he will succeed in breathing life into the party.
