Naidu tour in flood-hit R'seema: Sympathy-gaining?

Even before the tears in his eyes getting dried up following the alleged abuse by the YSR Congress party MLA in the state assembly, Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu wants to go into the people in the flood-hit areas of Rayalaseema.

Naidu held a teleconference with the TDP rank and file over the massive destruction caused by the heavy rains in Kadapa, Chittoor and Anantapur districts of Rayalaseema and parts of Nellore and Prakasam and asked them to take part in the relief operations.

The TDP chief said he would soon visit the flood hit areas and call on the affected people. There was a need for providing food and medicines to the flood victims. Milk and biscuits should be provided to the children, he said.

Naidu knows fully well that the people of the affected areas might have definitely witnessed his tear-jerking drama following the alleged attack from the YSRC leaders. And if he goes into the people, he might shed tears again and that would fetch a lot of sympathy for him. Readmore!

He told the party workers that the NTR Trust and iTDP have already begun food and medicine supply activities in many places and would continue to do that. He called upon the party leaders to coordinate with the NTR Trust and undertake visits to the affected places as early as possible.

“One may not be surprised, if Naidu ropes in his wife Bhuvaneshwari into the relief works on behalf of NTR Trust so that she, too, would get massive sympathy from the people. The service activities would also fetch considerable mileage to the TDP,” sources said.

Naidu asked his party leaders and activists to take part in flood relief activities in the affected places in different parts of the State. The TDP cadres should come forward and extend all possible help to the families that were badly hit in the heavy rains.

“Many places in the Rayalaseema districts and Nellore were marooned and stuck in the flood waters in the past several hours. We all should reach them on time to extend the maximum possible help,” he said.

Naidu asserted that the TDP would always be in the forefront of providing relief to the victims of floods, heavy rains and natural calamities. The TDP activists were already taking part in relief activities in the affected places in the latest floods. The TDP has launched flood relief activities much in advance of the government, he claimed.
