TDP president and former Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu had a miraculous escape when his convoy of vehicles met with an accident on the Vijayawada-Hyderabad national highway on Saturday evening.
According to reports, the incident happened at Dandu Malkapuram village of Chouttppal mandal in Yadadri Bhongir district, when the escort car came to a sudden halt to avoid hitting a cow crossing the highway.
As a result, the bullet proof car next the convoy collided with the escort car from behind. Luckily, another bullet proof car in which Naidu was seated also came to a sudden halt avoiding colliding with the vehicle before it. Thereby, Naidu remained safe.
The two vehicles which were badly damaged were abandoned there and the security staff in the escort car and another car in the convoy left for Hyderabad in another vehicle.
Naidu was returning to Hyderabad from his Amaravati residence in the convoy as part of his week-end schedule. In fact, he came to Amaravati only last Monday after a gap of more than 50 days.
