Naidu Playing Drama On Arrest Warrant

Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah on Saturday described it as a “big drama” the hungama being created by Telugu Desam Party leaders over the arrest warrant issued by Dharmabad court in Maharashtra against TDP president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Shah pooh-poohed the allegations that the issuance of non-bailable warrant against Naidu was part of the BJP’s political vendetta against the TDP chief.

“Chandrababu Naidu did not respond to as many as 25 summons issued to him by the court. So, the court issued the non-bailable warrant. In what way the BJP was concerned about it?” he asked.

He reminded that it was the Congress Party in power in Maharashtra and in Andhra Pradesh in 2010, when the Babli protest had happened. The case was filed in 2010 and the charge-sheet was filed in 2013.  Readmore!

“On both the occasions, the Congress was in power. How can the BJP be blamed for it?” he asked.

Shah said it was ridiculous that Naidu had now joined hands with same Congress which was responsible for the warrants against him.

“He is trying to blame the BJP only for political gains,” he alleged.

The BJP president challenged Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president and caretaker chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to project a Scheduled Caste leader as his party’s chief ministerial candidate in the forthcoming elections.

“In 2014, KCR had promised to make a SC leader the chief minister. He didn’t fulfil his promises. Assuming that it was his mistake, I am asking whether he would announce a SC leader the CM at least in 2018,” Shah said.
