Naidu Minting Money Out Of Land Allotments!

TDP president and AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu is on a land allotment spree toward the end of his first term in office.

The speed at which Naidu is allotting costly lands to private institutions at dirt cheap rates shows that Naidu is not confident of coming back to power again after Assembly polls and he wants to make the most of it now itself.

With election code of conduct for MLC polls expected next week and for Assembly polls by last week of this month, Naidu has been rushing land allotments as he will lose power to take major decisions or land allotments once election code comes into force.

Naidu seems to be trying to utilise his powers of a full-fledged CM in the last week of his tenure to the maximum possible extent. Readmore!

Latest, Naidu allotted 120 acres in Vizag worth Rs 1,000 crore in open market to a private university "Accord University" for a meager amount of Rs 57 crore.

A land parcel of 70 acres was allotted in Yarada and another parcel of 50 acres was allotted in Sabbavaram.

In Yarada, the government prescribed market price itself is Rs 14.52 crore per acre, but Naidu allotted this for just Rs 1 crore per acre.

In Sabbavaram, land was allotted for just Rs 10 lakh per acre.

With this, Accord University got Rs 1,000 crore worth land for just Rs 57 crore.

While Naidu claims that this was done to transform AP into a world-class education hub by setting up world-class private universities, the questions being raised are whether private universities which fleece students with higher fees are worth it.

Everyone can easily guess about what one would get in return if Rs 1,000 crore land is allotted for some for just Rs 57 crore.
