Naidu has multiple health issues, can he lead TDP?

If the health report of Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu issued by Asian Institute of Gastroenterology doctors on Wednesday is any indication, he may not be totally fit to lead his party campaign in the coming assembly elections in the state.

According to the report released by the hospital at the time of discharge, Naidu is suffering from multiple health problems.

According to the cardiology evaluation done by Dr R Prasad Reddy, Director, Dept. of Cardiologyn and Electrophysiology Department, though Naidu’s ECG is normal, the echocardiography shows that he is suffering from severe Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (Apical) (thickening of heart muscles resulting in slow pumping of blood) and severe hypertrophy of lateral walls.

He is also suffering from moderate obstructive coronary artery disease and there is a mild mitral regurgitation. Readmore!

“He also has aortic stenosis and mild dilated ascending aorta,” it said.

His calcium score has gone up substantially from 916 in 2019 to 1611, indicating an increased risk of coronary disease.

The dermatology evaluation of the TDP chief done by Dr Sanjiv Aurangabadkar (personal dermatologist), shows that he is suffering from peri-anal erythema and soddening (red rashes around his anal region) with discomfort.

Naidu is already suffering from vitiligo (white patches on the body) and the latest report shows he has developed new Vitiligo vulgaris lesions noted on face and nose and increase of actinic keratosis on fingers

“To rule out cancer, an excision biopsy was performed and reports are awaited,” the report said.

Similarly, the gastroenterology evaluation done by Dr Rakesh Kalapala said Naidu is also suffering from chronic constipation with Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

The AIG doctors advised that Naidu should undergo cardiac and dermatology evaluation regularly for next three months. And he should avoid any physically strenuous exercise and stress.

However, the doctors suggested that since Naidu has active public life, it is advised to have an ACLS Ambulance as part of his entourage along with ACLS trained doctor and technician around the clock.
