Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu was definitely crest fallen after watching the disastrous performance of his party in the just concluded assembly election results.
But he was the first person to recover from the shock or at least he appeared so. At the NTR birthday celebrations held at party office in Guntur on Tuesday, Naidu looked a little pale, but he tried to maintain his compose, as party workers broke down on seeing him. There was no change in his tone as he addressed briefly.
At the Wednesday’s TD legislature party meeting, too, Naidu sought to instil confidence among the party leaders and cadre, asking them not to get disheartened by the election results.
“There is no need for get disappointed with election results. It is an experience for us and let us all strive hard to keep the party intact and strong,” he said.
Stating that the YSR Congress party had got the landslide victory in the elections due to sympathy towards Jagan who strived hard in the last five years, Naidu said the YSRC president’s call to the people to give him one chance to rule the state had worked.
He asked the party leaders to strengthen the party from the grass-root level.
In this connection, Naidu made an interesting comparison with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi headed by K Chandrasekhar Rao in Telangana.
“See the TRS party, how it started its journey with only one seat in the assembly and gradually grew into a mighty political force. Today, it captured power for the second time," he said,
He asked MLAs and party leaders to fight on public issues and take the party again into the masses.
