After the infamous knife attack on YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy at Visakhapatnam airport on October 25, people of Andhra Pradesh seem to be losing faith on the Andhra Pradesh police, as they are facing allegations of blindly favouring the ruling party.
Jagan has refused to cooperate with the Andhra police in the knife attack case on the ground that the AP police had jumped to conclusions prematurely declaring it as a non-serious case.
Since he had no faith in the special investigation team of the AP police, the centre has entrusted the case to National Investigation Agency.
His sister Y S Sharmila also lodged a complaint with the Telangana police in connection with the objectionable postings against her in the social media.
She said she had no faith in AP police. And the Telangana police cracked the case within a few days.
On Tuesday, slain NRI industrialist Chigurupati Jayaram’s wife Padmasri lodged a complaint with the Jubilee Hills police stating that his niece Shikha Chowdary could be behind the murder of her husband.
She said she had no faith in Andhra police as they had given a clean chit to Shikha for obvious reasons; hence, she approached the Hyderabad police.
Having no other option, the AP police on Wednesday handed over the Jayaram murder case to Telangana, as the incident took place in Hyderabad and only the body was found near Nandigama.
However, the AP police sought to defend their action on the ground that the murder involved the role of two Hyderabad police officials.
