Despite mixed reviews from critics, “Uppena” is creating a rampage at the box-office. The production house - Mythri Movie Makers – is celebrating success like anything.
It is the first blockbuster for them since the release of ‘Rangasthalam’. They either had flops or average grossers in their last 6 films.
Since the commencement of the movie, the production house has been hyping up the film.
The makers were so confident in the film’s success that they had put in nearly Rs 20 crore on a film that has newcomers and rejected direct-to-OTT deals.
No wonder then that Mythri Movie Makers has now signed the director up for another two films.
Buchi Babu has already locked a deal with Mythri Movie Makers even before the release of “Upppena” but it has now signed him for the two-movie deal.
Mythri has also given advance to the director of “Dear Comrade” and hyped up a lot but Bharath didn’t get another chance to direct as the film bombed.
“Uppena” has exceeded expectations and emerged as a huge blockbuster and the production house doesn’t want to lose the director from their camp.
