After scoring two back to back hits Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya, I got Chhicohore, Naveen Polisetty is coming up with another hilarious entertainer Jathi Ratnalu where he will be seen sharing screen space with Priyadarshi and Rahul Ramakrishna.

Naveen informs he got a call from Nag Ashwin when he was doing Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya.

“Nag Ashwin asked me to hear the story as he felt I would be apt for the role. Then, Anudeep came to me to narrate the story. I thoroughly enjoyed the story.”

The young hero says the actor he played in Jathi Ratnalu is completely opposite to what he did in Agent. Readmore!

“The role of Jogipet Srikanth is 180 degrees opposite to Agent. It’s a dumb role.”

Naveen says Jathi Ratnalu is a satirical title.

“We used to call Jathi Ratnam, if someone in the film unit does any mistake. It’s a genuine opinion that my producers Nag Ashwin and Swapna are the real Jathi Ratnalu. They are encouraging many young talents like me. They signed me much before the release of my first two films.”

Talking about similarities between his first director Swaroop RSJ and Anudeep KV, Naveen says, “Swaroop and Anudeep are open to creative inputs. I’m a kind of an actor who performs better, if given freedom to improvise a scene. There was creative collaborative environment working with the two.”

Jathi Ratnalu was first shown to a fan of Naveen Polisetty who got injured.

“A fan messaged me that he wanted to watch Jathi Ratnalu 10 times. But, due to leg injury, he couldn’t come out. So, we sent our guys with a laptop. He along with his brother watched the film and during a video call he told me that he enjoyed the film completely.”

Naveen decided not to shoot in lockdown as it is risky for him and his family members. So, he did series of funny videos, staying at home. He says lockdown made him a better person.

“I used to read lots of messages on social media and I along with my friends tried to help the needy. In fact, lockdown made me a better person. We started thinking about others problems as ours during the period.”
