Modi prefers Jagan to KCR for central panel!

The National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi appears to be of the view that YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is a safe bet compared to his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao.

It was evident from the way the Modi government appointed Jagan as a member of the standing committee of the Inter-State Council from among all the chief ministers from south India.

Though KCR is more experienced in the inter-state issues, compared to an inexperienced Jagan, the Centre thought Jagan as the best among the two.

In fact, Jagan is among the only four non-BJP chief ministers in the inter-state council panel. Readmore!

While one of them is a partner in the NDA government, the other two are: Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik and Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh from Congress. The standing committee is chaired by home minister Amit Shah.

The panel is meant for looking into the inter-state disputes and suggest ways and measures to resolve the same.

Jagan is the only CM from the entire South, indicating the importance Modi has given to Jagan, compared to KCR.

Apparently, the BJP leadership is of the view that KCR might turn out to be a litigant. At the same time, the party is aiming at growing as an alternative force to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and so, it is better to avoid the TRS chief as far as possible!
