Megastar to be honoured with Padma Vibhushan?

Yet another good news for Telugu film industry. Tollywood megastar Chiranjeevi is likely to be honoured with Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian award by the Narendra Modi government to be announced on the eve of the Republic Day, January 26.

According to reports from New Delhi, Chiranjeevi’s name figures in the list of top Padma awards this year. He has been chosen for the award not only for his outstanding contribution to the film industry, but also for his unflinching commitment to social service during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The megastar has not only set up a fund for coming to the rescue of people affected by Covid-19, but also launched an ambulance service to provide critical medical facilities to people. His Chiranjeevi Blood Bank also came to the rescue of many people.

It may be mentioned that Chiranjeevi received a special invitation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the consecration ceremony of Shri Ram temple at Ayodhya on Friday. He is expected to go there along with the family. Readmore!

Chiranjeevi was previously awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2006. On the work front, the actor was last seen in the film 'Waltair Veeraiya' and the actor is now shooting for his 156th film which has been titled 'Viswambhara'.
