After making a hue and cry over the denial of permission to release the controversial film “Lakshmi’s NTR” in Andhra Pradesh, ace film maker Ram Gopal Varma has gone silent.
But the real protagonist of the film Lakshmi Parvathi, widown of former chief minister N T Rama Rao, is terribly upset with the delay in the release of the film.
The authorities have denied permission to screen the film in theatres due to model code of conduct in force till May 23.
In fact, Kadapa joint collector had to be transferred for giving permission to screen the film in three theatres
Yet, Lakshmi Parvathi believes that it was the handiwork of Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu. She alleged that Naidu was responsible for stalling the release of the film Lakshmi's NTR.
She told reporters in Tirupati that Naidu had deliberately influenced the authorities to stall the release of the film since his villainy would get exposed if it was released.
“Naidu government has made us go to so many courts and has put us through a lot of trouble. There are no elections in AP now to influence anyone. It can be released now," she alleged.
The biopic by controversial Telugu filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) details the life of N T Rama Rao from the perspective of Lakshmi Parvathi, his second wife.
While the film released in Telangana, there is a strict ban in Andhra still in place against its release.
