Lagadapati Opens Up, Doubts T'gana Poll Results!

Former Congress MP from Vijayawada Lagadapati Rajagopal, who had gone silent after his predictions on Telangana assembly elections were proved completely wrong, came out of his hibernation on Wednesday.

He surfaced in New Delhi before the media and raised serious doubts over the authenticity of the Telangana poll outcome.

“My predictions had never gone wrong. For the first time, it happened in Telangana. There is something terribly wrong with the election results,” he said.

Lagadapati questioned why there was more than 24 hours to announce the percentage of polling. Readmore!

“In this digital era, it does not take more than an hour to compile the total polling percentage. I still wonder why the EC authorities nearly two days to give the figure,” he said and demanded that the polling percentage recorded after 5 Pm on the polling day, be made public.

He also sought to know why the Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail(VVPAT) slips were not counted to cross check the results from voting machines.

Lagadapati said he had definite proofs related to the Telangana elections, but which, he said will only be made public after the parliamentary elections.

He said he had decided reveal his poll predictions only after the elections were concluded and not before that. He said that he took the decision to restore the credibility of his poll predictions.

“I am forced to come out in public, as people questioned my credibility,” he said.

He rubbished the allegations against him saying that he would never conduct surveys for the sake of betting.

"If the allegations are true, why would I make the poll predictions public" Lagadapati asked.
