Kushi Breaks Even in US Already

"Kushi" has exceeded expectations. Given that Vijay Deverakonda's previous film, "Liger," was a disaster, no one expected it to open this strongly in the United States.

The film grossed the same amount as "Liger" from premieres, which came as a huge surprise.

"Kushi" maintained its strong performance on Friday and Saturday, consistently earning more than $300,000 in its first three days. It fell just short of reaching $300k on the fourth day (Sunday).

As a result, the Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha-starrer grossed $1.4 million in its opening weekend, breaking even and starting to generate profits. The United States is the first region where the film has reached the break-even point. Readmore!

#Kushi: Thursday: $472,860; Friday: $360,778 Sat: $351,803 Sun: $270k (approx) Total Weekend Earnings: $1.4M

Since Monday is a holiday in the United States, there is a good chance that an additional $100k to $150k will be added.

It remains to be seen whether it will reach the $2 million mark as "Jawaan" is set to release next weekend in a big way.

"Kushi" has demonstrated that Vijay Deverakonda's overseas market is still strong. To attract audiences, he only needs to focus on family-friendly and classy entertainers. This marks Samantha's 17th million-dollar film.
