Kotagiri Sridhar in US to attract investments to AP

YSR Congress party MP Kotagiri Sridhar and special representative of Andhra Pradesh government in North America Pandugayala Ratnakar on Tuesday met a delegation of the Alliance for US-India Business (AUSIB) with an objective of strengthening the relationship between Andhra Pradesh government and industrialists and businessmen in the US.

Sridhar and Ratnakar extended an invitation to the AUSIB representatives to explore the investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking on the occasion, AUSIB founder-president Sanjay Puri said there was a huge potential for business opportunities in AP.

“We are ready work closely with AP government led by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and business establishments in the state,” he said.

Sridhar explained in detail in the investment opportunities in infrastructure, technology, defence and smart city development in the state.

The state government had already identified Vijayawada, Kakinada, Tirupati and Visakhapatnam to be developed as smart cities.

Ratnakar explained the investment opportunities for the US investors in priority sectors like agriculture, fisheries, smart cities, healthcare and renewable energy sectors.

AUSIB chief executive officer Manish Chouhan talked about the opportunities available in technology, defence exports, commercial ventures, unmanned vehicles and education sectors.

AUSIB senior consultant Jeremy Spaulding said India had been attracting the global attention as one of the fastest growing economies in the world. India has already emerged as the most potential market place, she said.

Both the sides have agreed to work out a road map to plan for the development of Andhra Pradesh industrially by identifying the potential areas through AUSIB and make the state a leading example for other states in the country.
