All these days, former minister and senior politician from Visakhapatnam Konathala Ramakrishna was considered to be man of values and integrity.
But he has proved that he is one of those typical politicians who run after posts and power. It was evident from the way he returned to Telugu Desam Party camp on Monday, after making an attempt to join the YSR Congress party.
Konathala met TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu at Amaravati in the morning and expressed his intentions to join the TDP.
Apparently, he asked for the TDP ticket from Anakapalli Lok Sabha seat, but since Naidu has finalized the name of Adari Anand for the seat, he has promised to nominate him to Rajya Sabha.
It was only on Saturday that Konathala met YSRC president Y S Jagan at Lotus Pond along with several other leaders.
He, however, did not get any assurance from Jagan for the party ticket and so, he refused to wear the YSRC khanduwa. His name did not figure in the list of MP and MLA candidates released by Jagan on Sunday.
So, he returned to the TDP camp within 24 hours. Perhaps he thought Naidu had at least given him an assurance for Rajya Sabha seat, which he could not get from Jagan.
But, by making so man somersaults within a couple of days, Konathala has not only lost his “clean” image and also credibility.
In fact, after being suspended from the YSR Congress party, Konathala did not join any other party and had been maintaining a low profile, fighting on the issues concerning north-coastal Andhra.
Now with his vacillating political stand, Konathala proved that he is no different politician!
