Komatireddy cares a damn for PCC, won't step back

Former minister and rebel Telangana Congress MP from Bhongir parliamentary constituency Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has not changed his style and attitude even after the appointment of AICC in-charge of Telangana affairs Manikrao Thakre, in place of Manickam Tagore.

Komatireddy, who made wild allegations against Manickam Tagore saying the latter had taken big money from A Revanth Reddy to make him the PCC chief, met the new AICC in-charge of Telangana on Thursday for over an hour, but refused to give up his rebellious stand.

“Thakre has not listened to my suggestions on how to take the party forward. Instead, he asked me to continue to work for the party in my own way. He wanted me to be in the people and fight for the party’s victory,” the MP said.

Stating that he cared a damn for the show-cause notices issued to him by the party high command in the past, Komatireddy said they had crossed the expiry date. Readmore!

“They were thrown into the dustbin long ago. There is no question of replying to the same,” he said.

The rebel MP said he won’t care for the PCC committees and won’t like to be part of the same.

“How can they expect me to sit along with the people who had lost their elections six or seven times?” he asked.

Komatireddy has been staying away from the party activities for quite a long time and had not campaigned for Congress candidate Palwai Sravanthi in the Munugode by-elections held in November. He did not even take part in the padayatra of Rahul Gandhi in Telangana.

On the other hand, he extended his support to the senior Congress leaders who revolted against Revanth Reddy’s leadership last month.

However, indications are that he might jump the fence into the BJP before the next assembly elections in the state.
