Kesineni's daughter, too, quits TDP!

Kesineni Swetha, Telugu Desam Party corporator in Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, resigned from the post and also the primary membership of the party for “personal reasons.”

Swetha, along with her followers, went to the VMC office and submitted her resignation to Mayor Rayana Bhagya Lakshmi. She said she was quitting the corporator post on personal grounds and requested the Mayor to accept her resignation.

Later, she sent her resignation letter to party president N Chandrababu Naidu, saying she was resigning from the primary membership of the party on personal grounds. Her father and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani already declared in his Facebook post in the morning about Swetha’s resignation from the corporator post and also the party.

Before taking the decision to quit the post and party, Swetha had a meeting with TDP legislator from Vijayawada (East) MLA Gadde Rammohan, who has been the family friend of Kesineni family.

Apparently, Rammohan tried to convince her to stay back, but she refused. Having no option, the TDP lawmaker wished her all the best. “I took the blessings of Rammohan garu before resigning from the post and the party and he wished me all success in my future career,” she told reporters. Readmore!

Swetha was the front runner for Vijayawada Mayor post in the municipal corporation elections three years ago. However, the party could not win enough seats to capture the Mayor seat.

The Kesineni family alleged that some TDP leaders, particularly former MLA Bonda Uma and another senior leader Nagul Meera had sabotaged her chances of becoming the Mayor.

Kesineni, too, announced on Saturday that he would soon be quitting the MP seat and the party, as party president N Chandrababu Naidu did not want his services for the party.

“There is no point in continuing in the party, when the party president feels that my services are not required,” he said, adding that he would contest from Vijayawada Lok Sabha seat at any cost and score a hattrick.
