Kesineni, PVP fight over Article 370

The ongoing twitter war between Telugu Desam Party MP from Vijayawada Kesineni Nani and industrialist-turned-YSR Congress party leader Potluri Vara Prasad (PVP) was hitherto confined to Andhra Pradesh politics.

Now, it seems to have spilled over to even national issues. On Wednesday, both Kesineni and PVP entered into spar over abrogation of Article 370 which was dealing with autonomy of Jammu and Kashmir.

While the TDP as a matter of policy supported the Bharatiya Janata Party government at the Centre in the abolition of Article 370 and bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union territories, Kesineni expressed his own reservations on the development.

He said the Centre should have taken the people of J&K into confidence before reorganising the state into two separate UTs. Readmore!

“The way it was done is not acceptable to the people of Kashmir. Five years ago, they stifled the voice of the people of Andhra and divided the combined Andhra Pradesh unilaterally,” he tweeted.

Kesineni said the Centre should have given an opportunity to leaders like Farooq Abdullah, Mehabooba Mufti and Ghulam Nabi Azad to present their version on behalf of the people of Kashmir, before going ahead with reorganisation.

He also said in a separate tweet that he had a very special relationship with Kashmir and one would be surprised at the way Kashmiris display their affection, love and sincerity.

“It is a heaven on earth. Only time will tell whether the decision taken by the BJP government would bring good to Kashmir and the country as a whole,” he said.

PVP reacted strongly to Kesineni’s tweets.

“At last, the mood of the nation was reflected in the Parliament. If it is not acceptable to you, keep everything shut. And understand the people’s opinion on the latest development,” he commented.

He further questioned what the so-called leaders (mentioned by Kesineni) had done for Jammu and Kashmir.

“What had the state achieved in the last 72 years, except bloodshed? Please read the book written by Rahul Pandita: “Our moon has blood clots.” It will be an eye-opener for you,” PVP advised.
