KCR Undecided On Cabinet Expansion?

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has been keeping his party legislators and also the media guessing on expansion of his council of ministers.

It has been nearly a month since KCR assumed charge of the state for a second successive term and except home minister Mohammad Mahmud Ali, he has not inducted any other minister.

Till recently, he has been giving hints that he might expand his cabinet on January 18, a day after the commencement of the first session of the state assembly, as bad days of Sankranti would be over.

Now, the latest report is that KCR has dropped the idea of expanding his cabinet for now and might take it up only before the commencement of the budget session in February. Readmore!

Party sources said he wants to get some clarity on the revival of Parliament Secretary posts, after ensuring that there are no legal hassles in the process.

Since parliament secretaries would also play a key role in the assembly, KCR wants to fill them first before taking up the cabinet expansion.

“He already has a few names in his mind and therefore, there is no hurry in expanding the cabinet,” a party source said.

In the meantime, KCR would be busy performing Maha Rudhra Sahitha Sahastra Maha Chandi Yagam at his Erravelli farm house from January 21 to 25, he would not pay much attention to the cabinet expansion, sources said.

So, the long wait will continue!
