KCR Turns Volte Face On Property Registrations!

After getting a serious reprimand from the state high court for unnecessarily asking details of Aaadhar and family members for registration of non-agriculture properties through Dharani portal, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government has taken a U-turn.

On Saturday, the state government decided to register the properties in the old method of Computer-Aided Registration of Documents (CARD) introduced during the Chandrababu Naidu regime. 

The government announced that the system of booking slots for registration of properties on Dharani portal was being scrapped for now. Those who had already booked slots could go in for registration through old method from Monday onwards.

According to the officials so far, 2599 slots were booked since December 14 and of them, 1,760 registrations were completed. “In view of the high court orders, the slot booking facility for non-agricultural registrations is kept in abeyance for the time being,” an official statement said. The Stamps & Registrations Department officers have been directed to take necessary action and ensure smooth and speedy conduct of registrations, following due procedures and without any inconvenience to people.
