KCR to release BRS candidates' list next week?

Even as the opposition Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party are still struggling to establish themselves and kick up the anti-establishment sentiment among the people in Telangnana, Bharat Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is getting ready to enter the battle field.

According to party sources, KCR is going to release next week a jumbo list of 90 candidates out of the total number of 119 members in the state assembly, who would be contesting the upcoming assembly elections in the state, likely to be held in November or December.

Sources said the BRS president is waiting for the completion of Adhika Sravana month, which is a Sunya Masam (zero month), which will end on August 17. In all probability, he would release the list of BRS candidates on August 19.

It is learnt KCR has decided to retain 80 percent of his sitting MLAs and field them in the elections from their respective constituencies. The first list will comprise all these candidates. Readmore!

“He is expected to give the tickets to fresh faces in as many as 29 constituencies. He might allocate three seats to the CPI and CPI-M,” sources said.

In fact, the Congress also announced that it would release the first list of candidates for the coming assembly elections in Telangana in the third week of August, but so far, there are no indications to that effect.

The PCC election committee has not even been constituted, let alone calling for applications from the aspiring candidates.

There is a lengthy process in the Congress party and one doubts whether it would be able to release the list of candidates even after the announcement of election schedule.

The BJP is still struggling to identify the candidates, as there is no party organisation in many places.
