KCR To Extend Lockdown In Telangana?

Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is most likely to extend the lockdown in the state by one more week to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus disease that is wreaking havoc for the last two months.

The lockdown in Telangana was imposed rather belatedly on May 12, a week after Andhra Pradesh enforced partial lockdown.

Ever since the lockdown was announced, the number of cases in Telangana has been on the decline.

According to an official release, KCR has decided to hold State Cabinet meeting on May 30 at 2 pm, where he would review the Covid-19 situation in the state and take a call on the extension of lockdown in the state. Readmore!

However, the chief minister has already hinted that there is a possibility of extending lockdown as he told the officials at a review meeting that the lockdown was yielding good results.

“We are not worried about the loss of revenue and fall of economy. But in the best interest of the people, the government is ready to forego the revenue,” he said.

In the meeting, apart from the lockdown, the cabinet would also discuss about agriculture, crops in the State, the ongoing paddy procurement process, availability of seeds and fertilizers and curbing the supply of spurious seeds besides other subjects.
