KCR to delay announcement of BRS?

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is known for his unpredictable decisions.

He gets the information leaked to the media through various methods and waits for the reaction from the people, before taking any decision.

Take for example, his stand on the meeting convened by Trinamul Congress chief and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.

Till the last moment, he was giving leaks to the media that he would send his party leaders to the meeting, but finally he decided against sending anybody. Readmore!

Now, there is a talk that KCR might not announce the formation of his new ‘national’ political party in the near future.

In fact, it was KCR who got the news leaked to the media that he is floating Bharata Rashtriya Samithi (BRS) and a formal resolution to this effect would be made at the party’s state executive committee meeting on June 19.

All the newspapers made it a banner story last week and since then, there have been regular leaks from Pragati Bhavan on KCR’s hectic parleys with senior leaders of the party, besides political strategist Prashant Kishor.

Apparently, KCR was told that there is an auspicious muhurtham on June 19 and hence, he might make an announcement to that effect. The reports generated a lot of debate in the public and social media.

After ensuring that people have started discussing about it, KCR is now said to be contemplating deferring his plans to launch the BRS on the ground that he still has to do a lot of spade work.

“It is all media speculation that KCR will make an announcement on June 19. He never fixed any date nor has he planned to conduct the TRS state executive meeting. How are we responsible for the media reports?” a TRS leader said.

The latest leak from the party is that KCR will continue to do a lot of exercise before taking a final call on the launch of the BRS.

“The notification for the Presidential elections will be issued shortly and the focus would be on the same. Maybe after the BJP’s national executive meeting at Hyderabad, KCR will take a call,” the TRS sources said.

A senior journalist who has been closely watching the TRS developments said one shouldn’t be surprised if KCR drops his plans of floating the BRS altogether!
