KCR suspecting postponement of Telangana polls?

If the reports doing rounds in the Bharat Rashtra Samithi circles are to be believed, party president and Telangana chief minister Chandrasekhar Rao is suspecting that the Centre might postpone the assembly elections in the state by a couple of months.

According to sources, the chief minister has got the indications that the assembly elections in the state might be held in February, along with the assembly elections to at least dozen states and the Lok Sabha simultaneously.

“There are indications that the Centre might go in for simultaneous elections to the Lok Sabha and 13 states in February. We must be prepared for the same,” KCR reportedly told his party leaders at an informal meeting.

Along with Telangana, four other states – Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram, are scheduled to go for the elections in December. Now, they might get delayed by a couple of months and held along with a few other assemblies like Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, along with that of Lok Sabha sometime in February or March. Readmore!

“That is why KCR is taking it easy with his party and government programmes. Originally, he was planning to address a huge rally in Hyderabad in the last week of September to release his party manifesto. But now, he wants to go slow,” sources said.

However, a clear picture would emerge after the completion of the special parliament session being held from September 18 to 23 to decide on simultaneous polls.
